Education
In his undergraduate years, Wilson studied mathematics at Corpus Christi College, Cambridge. Soon thereafter, he became involved in physics. From 1961-64, he was a Scientific Officer in the Theoretical Physics Group at the Rutherford Laboratory. In 1965, he began converting to the social sciences through research on the mathematical modelling of cities. He had research posts in Oxford and London before being appointed as Professor of Urban & Regional Geography at the University of Leeds in 1970.
