Christian AnfinsenIn protein thermodynamics, Christian B. Anfinsen (1916-1995) was an American biochemist noted for his circa 1955 thermodynamic hypothesis, which argued that the approximately thousand steps involved folding of proteins from is based on the thermodynamics. He received half the 1972 Nobel Prize in chemist for his work in proving his hypothesis. [1]

Education
Anfinsen completed his BS at Swarthmore College (1937), his MS in organic chemistry at the University of Pennsylvania (1939), and his PhD in biochemistry from Harvard Medical School (1943).
