Heinrich HertzIn thermodynamics, Heinrich Hertz (1857-1894) was a German physicist, one of the pioneers of radiation thermodynamics, notable for having given a mechanical derivation of the second law of thermodynamics; a derivation, however, that was considered invalid by German mathematician Ernst Zermelo. [1]
