Heat vent origin of life theory
A circa 2000 hydrothermal vent origin of life cartoon by Jack Holden. [2]
In origin of life theories, the hydrothermal vent origin of life theory posits that amino acids and other organic compounds are produced during the passage through the temperature gradient of 350° C at the vent surface to 0 °C at sea-level, and that somehow the first life was created or emerged from this heat-driven chemical synthesis process.
