Many of the greatest geniuses, such as Newton, Maxwell, and Einstein—were all viewed as ‘dunces’ in childhood were labeled and or considered, by teachers, parent, or themselves, as dunces in childhood. [1] As Thomas Edison stated himself, on his experience at Port Huron school: [5]“I used never to be able to get along at school. I don’t know what it was, but I was always at the foot of the class. I used to feel that the teachers never sympathized with me and that my father thought I was stupid, and at last I almost decided that I really must be a dunce.”It seems to be an "inverse genius relationship phenomenon" of sorts. |
