Patrick WalshIn existographies, Patrick Walsh (1923-2013) was a English Latinist and classical philologist, generally focused on the works of Livy and Cicero.

In 1997, Walsh did the introduction, translation, and notes to the Oxford University Press English translation of Cicero’s On the Nature of the Gods, wherein he footnotes paragraphs of correctional side commentary on Cicero’s take on the ancient Greek philosophers, their schools, and theories about god. [1]

Walsh influenced by his father, who had had a mystical experience after being wounded at the Somme, was a devout Catholic. This was one reason for his interest in patristic writers such as St Paulinus, Thomas Aquinas, and Augustine. He received a papal decoration for this work. (Ѻ)
