Psychophysics
In science, psychophysics is the study of the relation between physical stimuli and the intensity of perception of the stimuli. The term was coined and defined in 1860 by German physicist and psychologist Gustav Fechner in his Elemente der Psychophysik (Elements of Psychophysics). [1] The term seems to have been a precursor to the subject of psychodynamics, as the work of Austrian psychologist Sigmund Freud, the founder of the latter, seems to have been influenced by Fechner. [2]
