Handscombe (c. 1955-) is an English engineer and business management professor noted for his 2004 book The Entropy Vector: Connecting Science and Business, co-written with English mechanical engineer Eann Patterson, in which they apply entropy theory, e.g. low entropy, mental entropy, etc., to business operation to argue that managers should strive to find the “entropy vector” characterized by low entropy creation, low energy input, and high work output. [1]

Education
Handscombe completed a PhD and is a chartered engineer. He has been involved in teaching, research, and consultancy activities at the management school at the University of Sheffield. In 2004, Handscomebe was the director of the White Rose Centre for Enterprise. [2]
