In music thermodynamics, The First and Second Law is a comic song performed by the British duo Flanders and Swann. The song was performed and recorded during a performance at the Haymarket Theatre, London, in 1963 (shown adjacent) and published as song six in the 1964 album At the Drop of Another Hat. [1] Michael Flanders (1922–1975) was an actor and singer and Donald Swann (1923–1994) was the composer, pianist and linguist. Together they collaborated in writing and performing comic songs.
