Nonequilibrium stateThis is a featured page

In thermodynamics, a nonequilibrium state is a state of a system or body that is not in equilibrium. The term "nonequilibrium state", generally, refers to a system in the process or action of an evolution or change. Examples of types of nonequilibrium states include: near-equilibrium and far-from-equilibrium. It is often said that living systems exist continuously in a nonequilibrium state. [1]
